Once Upon A Time

There was a girl.  A girl with lots of energy.  Then the girl grew up.  The girl had babies.  Lots of babies.  And not so much energy.  The girl thought one day, “I would really like to have a whole week of sleeping in and napping.  Well, okay, maybe I could handle just a couple of days with a couple of naps.  Then I could have lots of energy again.  To take care of all the babies.  Who have lots of energy.”  Someday the girl will have lots of naps, and lots of energy, and no babies.  And the girl will be sad.  So the girl will keep missing naps and energy in exchange for being with her babies.  And the girl will be happy.

 The end.

    Hi BJ-

Once upon a time…there was a girl who needed to take a trip to the natural food store…she needed to pick up a packet of B vitamins…B complete would help the girl feel better, if~ ‘IF’ she takes them daily…the girl might have to take them for a month before she sees the difference…a multivitamin might help too-even prenatal vitamins (even if the girl isn’t pregnant)- as child caring can really suck the life out of a girl ;-)

The girl felt much better and had a huge smile on her face…she was just SOOOO happy and filled with JOY!

And once upon a time *this* girl was pregnant and already had three other little wild boys.
Then she ended up on total bedrest for 5 whole weeks.
She had to have people come take care of her wild little boys while the girl laid on her side in bed tyring to crochet and watching too many episodes of “A Baby Story” and ER reruns.
She decided that being in bed was way over rated. But an hour of mandatory quiet time in the middle of each afternoon was wonderful for everyone.

Kimmie, thanks for the advice. I will have to try some vitamins.

Sheila, I attempted to have a quiet time every day, but because our three boys share a room, it doesn’t work well. Any suggestions to make it happen? I can only discipline so many times before it seems easier to just not do it in the first place.

I have four boys and they have 2 bedrooms between them. Then there’s my room, the living room, and a play room.

Youngest kid gets to play quietly in my room, where he eventually falls asleep. Second youngest gets to play quietly in his own room. Second oldest gets to chill in his room and the oldest and most responsible will hang out in the family room.
    Me…I’m in the living room.
    The rules are:
everyone uses the bathroom before quiet hour.
You may play with quiet toys by yourself or read a book.
    No video games.
    No talking.
    No active playing.

It is a pain somedays to get them to be quiet. But those days, quiet time is longer than an hour. ;)
They seem to like the time on their own.
