Busy

I don’t think I’ve been home all day since last Tuesday. So much for stay-at-home-mom! We’ve been busy shopping and buying. We got a new dining table and chairs. Something that actually fits all of us! It’s really pretty. There is a new discount furniture store in town, and that’s where we found this table. It looks HUGE compared to our old one. Some of that is due to the chairs. I’ll post a picture soon. Other than that we’ve just been busy buying things for the house that you would normally do when first moving in (like paint), but were unable to do last summer. It takes quite a bit of time to make decisions on things, so it seems to be taking quite a few days to finish the list.

We did get paint for all of the bedrooms, as well as the upstairs bathroom. And we got it on sale! I like sales. :) We’re also going to be picking up closet doors for the bedrooms. That will make a big difference in how tidy the bedrooms look. Because we have so little storage, we need to get some closet organizers as well. Esp. for the boys and the entrance. I do NOT want a repeat of the mess of hats and mittens we had this year, when winter comes next year.

Today I need to run and pick up the rent payment (we’re renting out our mobile in Mactaquac), pay a bill, buy some clothes for the kids, and get groceries. Greg’s getting in late tonight as he took an extra run. We don’t normally provide service outside of our contracts, but we have some clients that return once a year for an annual event that they need transportation for. So this will help my day not seem quite so long. The kids love going shopping, and even though I lose my patience sometimes, they are actually well-behaved for the most part. We have a talk before going into a store about what will and will NOT be purchased, and they know that no means NO. I do let them get a treat, but not several treats. Usually reminding them that we got one treat is enough to keep them from whining.

And on a fun, happy, springish note, I saw my first robin today! Correction. I saw my first SIX robins on the lawn! Winter is definitely gone! I won’t be surprised by another snowfall or two, but it means nothing when you know there are happy robins making themselves at home.

Have a great day, whatever your plans!

Rachael! I need a chat with you! Let me know if you’ll be around this evening. You can send me an email.
